The Code Advance Manifesto

So I finished agonizing over how to begin posting to Code Advance the other day and had finally decided to begin with a vision statement. The next problem was of course, why WAS I starting the site? I have many answers to this question, but I wanted something that summarized the overall scope of work I hope we accomplish here. After much gnashing of teeth and a few trips to the buzzword bingo chest I assembled:

Our mission is to advance the work of developers both technically and personally by asserting a lifestyle of continuous improvement and promoting a culture of exchange, while writing only between builds.

So when you think of “Code Advance” I hope you will find that it represents more than the lines of syntax we bang out each day, but also the ethos of a good developer striving to become even better.
